What is an anti tip bracket?
A floor or wall bracket that stops a range tipping forward when weight is put on an open door, a required safety device.
A freestanding range can tip forward if a child stands or a heavy pan is placed on the open door. The anti tip bracket engages a rear leg to prevent it, and it is required on every installation. It is also routinely left off or missed when a range is swapped, so verifying it is engaged is a standard part of any range service call, not an upsell, but a documented injury hazard.
