What is an anti-tip bracket?

A freestanding range can tip forward if a child stands or a heavy pan is placed on the open door. The anti-tip bracket engages a rear leg to prevent it, and it is required on every installation. It is also routinely left off or missed when a range is swapped, so verifying it is engaged is a standard part of any range service call — not an upsell, but a documented injury hazard.
