⚠️ BEFORE YOU START

Unplug the dryer before opening the cabinet.

Tools

  • Putty knife
  • Screwdriver

Parts

  • Door switch for your model

Step by step

  1. 1 Confirm the symptom

No hum, no light change when pressing start — and no click when you press the little plunger by the door opening. That silence is the diagnosis.

  2. 2 Release the top panel

Slide a putty knife under the front corners of the dryer top to pop the clips and hinge it up.

  3. 3 Swap the switch

The switch clips or screws into the door frame from underneath; unplug its connector, transfer wires to the new switch, and snap it in.

  4. 4 Test before closing

Plug in briefly with the top still up (fingers clear), close the door, and press start — a working switch means the motor spins.
