Step by step

1 Mark everything before touching it

Open the door and mark where the boot’s drain holes, vent nubs, and alignment dots sit relative to the tub — the new boot must land in the identical orientation or it will leak.
2 Remove the outer clamp

Peel the boot lip back from the front panel edge and find the spring or worm-screw clamp holding it; work it off with a flat screwdriver, controlling the spring.
3 Free the boot from the front panel

On many models the front panel comes off (door switch unplugged) for real working room — worth the extra ten minutes.
4 Remove the inner clamp and old boot

A second clamp holds the boot to the outer tub. Release it, note how the old boot seats on the tub lip, and pull it off.

5 Seat the new boot on the tub

Line up your marks exactly (drain holes DOWN), work the boot lip onto the tub rim all the way around with soapy fingers, and reinstall the inner clamp.
6 Attach to the front panel and clamp

Stretch the outer lip onto the panel edge, seat the outer spring clamp starting from the bottom, and reassemble the panels.
7 Leak-test before celebrating

Run a short wash empty and watch the door perimeter and floor for the entire cycle.
