What is an air dome?
The chamber at the base of the tub that traps air so the pressure switch can read water level.
A small inverted chamber at the bottom of the outer tub. As water rises it compresses the air inside, and that pressure travels up a hose to the pressure switch. Detergent residue and lint can clog the dome or its port, giving the control a false low reading and causing the machine to keep filling. Cleaning it is part of any proper water-level diagnosis.
