📖 GLOSSARY · CONCEPT
What is a condensation drying?
Drying dishes with residual heat against a cool stainless tub rather than a heating element — plastics stay damp.
Most European-style dishwashers dry by condensation: the hot final rinse leaves dishes warm, moisture condenses on the cooler stainless tub wall and drains away. There is no exposed heating element, which is quieter and safer for plastics — but plastics, which hold little heat, come out damp. That is designed behaviour, not a fault, and it is the most common complaint from owners switching from an American brand. Rinse aid materially improves the result.
