What is a spray arm?
The rotating arms that fling water at the dishes; blocked jets are a leading cause of poor cleaning.
Spray arms spin under the reaction force of water leaving their jets. Those jets block with grit, seeds and label paper, and a partially blocked arm turns slowly or not at all, leaving whole sections of the rack unwashed. They pull off by hand or with a single retaining nut and rinse clean in a couple of minutes — always the first thing to check on a cleaning complaint, before anyone talks about pumps.
