⚠️ BEFORE YOU START

Unplug the fridge AND shut the water supply at the saddle/stop valve before disconnecting anything. The 1/4" line stays pressurized until the supply is off.

Tools

  • Nut driver
  • 1/4" line wrench or open-end wrench
  • Towels
  • Phone camera

Parts

  • Dual (or triple) inlet valve for your model

Step by step

  1. 1 Shut off water and power

Close the supply valve (under the sink or behind the fridge), unplug the fridge, and pull it out for access.

  2. 2 Open the rear lower panel

The valve is where the 1/4" supply line enters — a small solenoid block with one inlet and one or two outlet tubes.

  3. 3 Disconnect lines and wires

Photo everything. Crack the supply fitting with a towel underneath, then release the outlet tubes (compression nuts or push-fit collets — press the collar to release) and the wire plugs.

  4. 4 Swap the valve

Transfer the bracket, connect outlets and wiring per photos, and reconnect the supply line snug — not gorilla-tight on plastic threads.

  5. 5 Leak-watch before closing

Open the supply slowly, watch every joint for two full minutes, run the dispenser to purge air, then panel on and fridge back. Check again the next day.

LG LRFVS3006S notes & error codes

Pull the model and serial and check LG sealed-system warranty coverage before quoting a compressor. The compressor part is covered to 10 years but the labour only to 5 (1 year on pre-2022 units), so quote the labour honestly.
