📖 GLOSSARY · CONCEPT
What is an inverter?
Electronics that vary power continuously instead of switching full power on and off — smoother, quieter, more efficient.
A conventional microwave at 50% power runs at full output half the time; an inverter model genuinely delivers half power continuously, which defrosts and reheats far more evenly. The same principle drives variable-speed compressors in refrigerators and variable-speed motors in washers. The trade-off is serviceability: inverter boards are specific, expensive parts, and on an inexpensive appliance an inverter fault often ends the machine.
