What is a suds lock?
Excess foam cushioning the drum so it cannot spin, usually from using non-HE detergent in an HE machine.
Too much foam stops the drum tumbling properly and prevents the pump moving water, so the machine keeps pausing to add rinses and eventually times out with an error. The usual cause is ordinary detergent in a high-efficiency machine, or simply too much of the right detergent. It is a usage fault rather than a broken part, though a clogged pressure switch hose can produce the same symptoms โ check both.
