What is a basket drive?
The splined hub that couples the wash basket to the drive system; strips out and lets the basket freewheel.
The basket drive hub transmits rotation from the drive system to the stainless wash basket. Its splines wear or strip with age, especially on machines that are regularly overloaded, and the result is a basket that turns lazily or not at all while the motor runs normally. It is typically replaced together with the splutch kit, since reaching one means reaching the other.
