What is a drum roller?

Most dryer drums are supported on two or four plastic rollers with sealed bearings. As the bearings fail the rollers develop flat spots, producing a thump that matches drum rotation exactly — the giveaway that separates a roller problem from a belt or blower noise. They wear as a set, so replacing one worn roller against three tired ones simply brings the customer back in a few months.
