Every microwave has a set of interlock switches that must all agree the door is closed. One of them, the monitor switch, is designed to deliberately blow the line fuse if the others fail out of sequence โ€” which is why a completely dead microwave with a blown fuse is so often an interlock story rather than a control board one. Never bypass an interlock: they exist to stop the oven emitting microwave energy with the door open.
