What is a lp conversion?

Propane is delivered at higher pressure and carries more energy per unit volume than natural gas, so it needs smaller orifices and a different regulator setting. Running a natural gas appliance on propane without converting it produces dangerously oversized flames; the reverse produces a starved, sooty burner. Conversion kits are supplied by the manufacturer, the appliance must be labelled as converted, and manifold pressure should be verified with a manometer afterwards.
