What is a manometer?
Measures gas pressure in inches of water column — required to set up or verify any gas appliance conversion.
Gas appliances are specified at a particular manifold pressure, measured in inches of water column at the valve tap. A manometer is how that is verified. It is essential when converting between natural gas and propane, because the pressures and orifice sizes differ substantially and guessing produces either a starved burner or dangerously oversized flames.
