Gas valve solenoid coils
The coils weaken with heat age and can’t hold the valve open. Sold as a cheap two- or three coil kit. The most common gas dryer heat repair.
Igniter cracked
The glow bar is brittle silicon carbide and cracks from vibration or a careless touch.
Flame sensor
Reads the igniter’s heat to sequence the valve. Fails less often than coils.
Repair or replace?
Repair. All three parts are cheap and gas dryers commonly run 15+ years. Because it’s gas, we recommend a pro unless you’re confident working around a live gas line.
