What causes it — and what each fix costs
Water supply not connected/on
The classic: the steam line was never hooked up after delivery, or its tap is off. Check the small hose to the cold line — free.
Steam water valve failed
The solenoid valve dies exactly like a washer inlet valve. Standard swap.
Clogged nozzle or scaled hose
Hard-water scale blocks the tiny steam nozzle. Cleaning or a cheap nozzle fixes it.
Repair or replace?
Repair if you use steam; plenty of owners simply live without the feature — the dryer dries fine regardless. Worth knowing before paying: the machine works normally without the steam line connected.
